| Every year, the SIGMOD Conference includes a symposium with advice on starting a career in data management. These symposia are both informative and entertaining; they are geared towards graduate students and junior researchers but they often attract a broader audience. This year’s topic is “Research and Academia in the face of a Global Pandemic.” In a moderated Q&A, the panelists will discuss the main issues and concerns raised by our community members. The panelists will offer diverse viewpoints from academia, industry, government funding agencies and a variety of geographical regions.
